About Dr. Ford
Peter Ford, MD, FACS, RPVI, welcomes patients to his private practice, Vascular Solutions in Charlotte, North Carolina. With dual board certifications in general surgery and vascular surgery, and specialized credentials as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI), Dr. Ford is exceptionally qualified in his areas of specialization, the management of varicose veins, venous disease, and vascular disorders.
A native of Melbourne, Australia, Dr. Ford received his medical training at the internationally renowned Monash University School of Medicine in Clayton, Australia. He relocated to the United States and continued his education, completing his general surgery residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo, then finishing his fellowship training in vascular surgery at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill.
Dr. Ford served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UNC, where he was responsible for teaching and mentoring medical students, surgical residents, and vascular surgery trainees. At the same time, he has also cared for complex vascular surgery patients.
In addition to co-authoring several publications in surgical journals, Dr. Ford has co-authored several chapters in surgical textbooks. He has also delivered multiple grand rounds presentations on vascular surgery topics and has presented at regional surgical meetings.
Dr. Ford is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Ford enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and spending time with his wife, Katie, and their three children.
Kristin Hartman, PA-C is our Physician Assistant at Vascular Solutions, assisting Dr. Ford with all day-to-day patient care including sclerotherapy treatment on our patients. She says that is what she loves most about being a P.A. "I enjoy the rewarding feeling from diagnosing and then providing treatments that help make her patients feel better. "That's what makes me smile and excites me about coming to work in the morning, as well as our awesome co-workers & flexible bosses!" Kristin is married and a mom to three active boys who keep her busy cheering from the stands during a myriad of different sporting events that each one participates in, often requiring her and her husband to travel all the country when duty calls. When asked to name a quote that she lives by, Kristin didn't hesitate, "The glass is half-full! I try and look at things in a positive light and find the good in every situation….."
Tim serves as Vascular Solution’s Clinical Lead and Business Development Officer as well as one of our vascular technologists. He has worked in the phlebology field since 2000, with dual credentials as an ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and CCI Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPhS). Tim completed his undergraduate studies in Sports Medicine and received his MBA in Corporate Innovation & Technology from Wingate University. Currently, he is serving as the President of the North Carolina Vascular Technologists organization for the third straight year and has instructed at Sanford Brown Institute in Tampa , FL and guest lectured at numerous conferences/symposiums, most recently at the 2018 NCVT Annual Symposium in Greensboro, NC and internationally as a surgical didactic instructor at both Chulalongkorn University’s 2013 DASIL Congress and at Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand. He has also co-authored 5 published papers/abstracts on ELVT and RF ablation, four of which were presented at the American College of Phlebology's 2004 and 2007 Annual Congress, and one that was published in a 2008 issue of the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine. Tim has also consulted for BTG International, Medtronic and Guidepointe Global and was an integral member of multiple clinical research trails in the early stages of product development, including BTG Inc.’s Varithena trials VV-15 & VV-17, and Covidien Ltd’s Polidoconol pre-trial research phases. In his spare time, Tim travels every chance he gets and plays in two sand volleyball leagues year-round.
Deneen is one of our vascular technologists, a CCI Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), and our OSHA Officer at Vascular Solutions. She has been in the medical field for many years following a long career in banking/finance in NYC. “I love to treat our patients with the highest level of care and compassion as if they were my own family.” Although she grew up in a large city near New York Deneen considers herself a country girl at heart and loves living in the Carolinas. She is married and is a mom to two sons. In her spare time, she likes to spend time on the water, horseback riding and cooking for her boys to name a few. Favorite quote? “Always look towards the sun and you will never see the shadows!”
Maha is one of our medical assistants at Vascular Solutions. She has been in the medical field for many years and glows when speaking about what she enjoys about her job. “I love my co-workers and patients every day, getting to know them and helping our patients through their treatment regimen.” She prides herself in having patience, especially during the challenging and busy surgical workdays at Vascular Solutions, helping the providers stay on time while taking the time to listen to her patients voice their medical problems. She is married and is a mom to three daughters. In her spare time she likes to take road trips with her family, hike and read. When asked to name her favorite quote Maha stated, “What’s meant to be will always find its way".
Takeshia "Keshia" is one of our medical assistants at Vascular Solutions. This is her first time working in our specialty and she has taken the challenge head on. She expressed that so far what's most enjoyable is learning how to prepare patients for surgery, to include using different sterilization techniques. Keshia, not a Charlotte native, originates from Ohio and has three children that she adores! She is motivated by the opportunity to wake up each morning, as it gives her a new chance to be better than the day before, living life happy regardless of what is happening. In her spare time, she likes to play games, especially Dominos. When asked to name her favorite quote Keshia stated, "Treat others as you want to be treated." This is important to her as she treats others with kindness and respect.
Bridgett is our Billing/Coding Specialist at Vascular Solutions who is part of our administrative team, taking on new coding challenges that are a regular part of a constantly changing insurance reimbursement landscape. She has been in the field of private medicine for over 20 years, having served many roles at other practices, including as a medical assistant to practice manager. She is a healthcare consultant who is certified in coding/billing, ICD-10 and various EMR’s. What she loves most about her job is the new coding challenges presented in the field of vascular surgery, as she thrives on going above and beyond the normal scope of coding/billing that other fields present. When she is not at work, Bridgett is married and mom to a son. She enjoys doing anything outdoors, including hiking, biking and gardening to name a few.
Celeste is one of our Front Desk Specialists at Vascular Solutions, doing everything from handling patient checking in/out, incoming calls and scheduling appointment. She states, “I enjoy working with pleasant people, from my fellow employees to all of our wonderful patients.” Celeste is married and a mom to a daughter and enjoys spending time with her family while not working. She also enjoys cooking and crafts, from card and ornament making to decorative collaboration. When asked to name a quote that has meaning to her, she stated, “To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.”
Cynthia is one of our Front Desk Specialists at Vascular Solutions and HIPAA Officer at Vascular Solutions, doing everything from handling incoming calls to scheduling and registration. She states, “I am a people person. I love to smile and pride myself in helping our practice to provide the highest level of care to all of our patients.” She has an international engineering degree and in her spare time, she tutors math to children K-12. What makes her smile is her deep love for animals. “As a child, I would bring home all of the stray cats and dogs that I would come across. That got me into trouble with my mom!” She is married and is a mom to a daughter. When asked to name a quote that she lives by, Cynthia didn't hesitate, “There is no need for us to become impatient when things do not move ahead as quickly as we might wish!”
Lorren is our Practice Manager at Vascular Solutions, overseeing all operational aspects of the practice. When asked about her favorite part of working at Vascular Solutions, Lorren states “Working with and getting to know our patients on a personal level. The opportunity to help people in different capacities is what I love about what I do.” Lorren loves traveling and spending time with her growing family, including her husband and two young daughters. She completed her undergrad studies in Biology at Norfolk State University and took post-graduate classes in Heath Administration at Walden University. A native of Maryland, Lorren loves the Carolinas but misses the seafood, that her home state is famous for, especially blue crabs. and when asked to name a favorite quote that she lives by, Lorren gave two….“Treat others as you would want to be treated,” and “Life’s too short to frown, just smile and keep moving. It takes less muscles and in turn, leaves less wrinkles!
