Board-certified vascular surgeon Dr. Ford has the requisite knowledge, training, and experience to accurately treat the full spectrum of vascular disorders. Vascular Solutions is a full-service destination for any type of vein (or vascular) problem. We treat the full spectrum of vein disorders, ranging from simple cosmetic spider veins all the way through to complex vein problems and leg ulcers (wounds).
A native of Melbourne, Australia, Dr. Ford received his medical training at the internationally renowned Monash University School of Medicine. Upon relocating to the United States in 2000, he completed his General Surgery residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo, followed by fellowship training in Vascular Surgery at the University of North Carolina (UNC), Chapel Hill.
From 2007-2014 Dr. Ford served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UNC, where he was responsible for teaching and mentoring medical students, surgical residents and vascular surgery trainees in addition to caring for complex vascular surgery patients.
The co-author of several publications in surgical journals, Dr. Ford has also co-authored several chapters in surgical textbooks. In addition, he has delivered multiple Grand-Rounds presentations on vascular surgery topics, and has presented at regional surgical meetings.
Board-certified in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery, Dr. Ford also holds the credentials of Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). He is a member of the Society of Vascular Surgery (SVS) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Ford has a special interest in the management of varicose veins, venous disease, and vascular disorders.
In his spare time Dr. Ford enjoys mountain-biking, skiing, and spending time with his wife Katie, and his three children.
